MUN 2020

MODEL UNITED NATIONS 2020

MUN - IMI New Delhi is a two day academic simulation of United Nations which is an intergovernmental organization consisting of 193 countries in the world. It is meant to engage students and allow them to develop deeper understanding of current world issues in addition to developing their critical thinking, teamwork and leadership abilities. MUN provides a platform to discuss and debate on a plethora of challenges faced by the modern generation.

IMI MUN 2020 will be the fourth edition of MUN at IMI. The theme for IMI MUN 2020 will be:

“Supremacy or Sustainability: The inevitable dilemma”

 

The committees to be simulated at the event along with their agendas are:

  • Economic and Financial Committee (ECOFIN) – Economic warfare -The cold war getting warmer.
  • Special Political and Decolonization Committee (SPECPOL)- Clash at close quarters: A history of disputed territories.
  • Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC)- Advances in AI and unmanned weapons, an emerging threat?
  • United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)- Migration - questioning identity and norms of inclusion.

 

The event will be held at the IMI New Delhi campus on 11th and 12th January 2020.
