IMI MUN 2020 Brochure

MUN - IMI New Delhi is a two-day academic simulation of the United Nations which is an intergovernmental organisation consisting of 193 countries. It is an academic simulation in which participants assume the role of national ambassadors or representatives and debate in order to resolve global issues. It’s meant to engage students, giving them an opportunity to understand international affairs and global politics by putting them “in the shoes of world leaders”.Students get a platform to interact with fellow peers from all over the country and learn from them, gaining not just knowledge but real-life skills that imbibes a sense of self confidence, preparing them for the world outside. 

IMI MUN 2021 saw a footfall of over 300 people. The event saw participation from institutes like IIMs, SIBM Pune, IIFT Delhi, Fore School Delhi, NMIMS, and TAPMI. The opening ceremony was graced by Hon’ T.P Sreenivasan, former Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations and former Ambassador for India to Austria and Slovenia, adding to the glory of the event.  

IMI MUN 2022 will be the sixth edition of MUN at IMI. The theme for IMI MUN 2022 will be: 

“Facets of Freedom - Weaving a Better Tomorrow” 

The committees to be simulated at the event this coming session along with their agendas are:

• United Nations Security Council (UNSC) - Curbing turmoil - stemming armed conflict in war-ridden nations
• Economic And Financial Committee (ECOFIN) – None left behind - Reforming the international financial system
• United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) - Adjudicated asylum - Refugee crises and immigrant labour rights
• Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW) - Women's empowerment-Access to public services and gender equitability in the workplace. 

The event will be held in an online mode on 8th and 9th January 2022.
