MUN - IMI New Delhi is a 2-day academic simulation of United Nations which is an intergovernmental organization consisting of 192 countries in the world. Participants from various colleges, research a country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and then develop solutions to world problems. The theme for IMI MUN 2017 will be:
“Striving towards utopia”
The committees to be simulated at the event along with their agendas are:
WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM (WEF) – Understanding the impact of negative interest rates on financial feasibility and economic growth.
GROUP OF 20 NATIONS (G—20) – Geopolitical Tensions in the South China Sea and its impact on world peace, security and trade.
WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION(WTO) – Reforming and strengthening economies and labor markets of developing and least developed countries against economic dumping.
UNITED NATIONS FRAME WORK ON CONVENTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE (UNFCCC) – Strengthening the commitment to international climate change with particular focus on the Paris Treaty.
