Mamta Mohapatra  

  • Dr. Mamta Mohapatra is a Professor and the Area Chair of the Organizational Behavior and Human Resource (OBHR) Area at the International Management Institute in New Delhi. She has nearly thirty years of experience in teaching, research, training, and consulting in the fields of Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, and Organizational Behavior.

  • Before her current position, Dr. Mohapatra worked as a Manager at Greggs of Enfield in London and was a faculty member at the Asia Pacific Institute and the Institute for Integrated Learning in Management in New Delhi.
     
  • She has provided training and consulting services to various public and private sector organizations, including ONGC, Cyber Media India Ltd., Bharti Telecom Ltd., Triune Projects Ltd., NTPC, GMR, MMTC, NSPCL, Tata Power, JSPL, EIL, Pepsi Foods, Tata Communications, Pepsico, Vodafone, IFFCO, Dena Bank, IOB, Allahabad Bank, Syndicate Bank, NHPC, and NPCIL, among others.
     
  • As an expert in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior, Dr. Mohapatra has received training at Harvard Business School and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. She has taught various courses on Human Resource Management, Talent Management, Diversity Management, Basic Managerial Skills, Industrial Relations, Change Management, Compensation Management, and Reward Systems in Postgraduate Programs.

Industry Experience 

Dr. Mohapatra worked as a Manager at Greggs of Enfield in London from January to September 1997. In her role, she focused on talent management and personnel administration, which included salary administration, staff management (preparing timesheets and work schedules), sickness and leave management, handling employee grievances, and coordinating with other units and the Head Office. Her outstanding performance was recognized when she received the 'Manager of the Month Award' for achieving excellent core growth for the unit.

 

Administrative Experience

As the founding Programme Director of the two-year full-time PGDMHRM course at IMI, from May 2006 to 2010, she was responsible for industry liaison, organizing field projects for students, program design, curriculum development, system development, documentation, and interfacing with industry and academic institutions, among other related activities.

 

Dr. Mohapatra has been deeply involved in institution-building activities and currently serves as a member of the Academic Council and various committees at IMI.

Dr. Mamta Mohapatra is currently a Professor and Area Chair of Organizational Behavior and Human Resources (OBHR), the Program Chair of the PGDM Online Program, and the Chairperson of the Centre for Women Development at IMI, New Delhi. With nearly three decades of experience in teaching, research, training, and consulting, she specializes in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, and Organizational Behavior. 

 

Previously, she served as a Manager at Gregg’s of Enfield in London. Dr. Mohapatra has been involved in training and consulting activities with numerous major Maharatna, Navaratna, and Miniratna Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), as well as leading private sector organizations across India. She has trained over 10,000 participants, both national and international, from more than 70 countries, working in government, public, and private sector organizations. 

 

She is a certified HR Competency Assessor and an NLP Practitioner, having acquired expertise in training from Harvard Business School, particularly in Participant-Centered Learning with a focus on case method teaching. Dr. Mohapatra has published numerous research articles in reputed journals and authored five books. Her contributions to the field have earned her several accolades and awards, including the Best HR Faculty Award from the National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM).
