Swaminathan Balasubramanian has been with IMI since June 01, 1995. His areas of interest are Global Strategy, Corporate Governance and Mergers & Acquisitions. Has extensive international top management experience for more than two decades, in the oil field, resource development, and construction equipment & tools business, and in the process control and instrumentation industries, being responsible for the start-up and rapid profitable growth of the Asia-pacific operations of Fortune 500 multinational corporations. Negotiated and concluded several strategic alliances and crossborder acquisitions, mergers and technology transfers. Other key top management positions were I USA, UK, Singapore and India for the companies’ international operations.
Research interest areas include global strategy formulation and implementation in large diversified international corporations; corporate governance, business and social networks, and strategies for business sustainability leading to the evolution of new concepts in stakeholder management and open-ended organization systems. Has written cases for classroom discussion and contributed articles in the business press. |
