Himadri Das has been with IMI since April 01, 2002. His areas of interest are Business Intelligence, E-Business, Customer Relationship Management, Financial Derivatives and Risk Management.

Before joining IMI in 2002, he was Chief Technology Officer at the Indian Development Center of a UK based software MNC making products, based on modeling of financial derivatives, for risk management in the European energy trading market. He has about 13 years of corporate experience mainly in the IT industry, in the US and India, for software multinationals involved with products for engineering and financial applications. He was among the pioneers in setting up offshore software development centers in India for IT services outsourcing from the US. He has also had entrepreneurial experience in setting up and running a small software company in India catering to both international and domestic customers.

His broad areas of interest are Information Technology Management and Finance. His primary focus is on addressing three of the contemporary issues that greatly affect businesses today – deluge of data, uncertainty, and the digital economy. He applies data mining to make sense of huge quantities of data to unearth nuggets of business intelligence that can help gain valuable insights about customers, products, and services. He uses financial derivatives in his work on enterprise-wide risk management that encompasses credit, market and operational risks to help manage uncertainty and volatility. His interest in e-business involves developing business models to be competitive in the digital economy.
